About the Author

Hi, my name is NataLee

For years, I carried memories I did not always know how to explain. I grew up in a small West Tennessee town where the fields were wide, the silence was heavy, and a little girl learned early how to watch, listen, and survive.

Writing became a way to return to those moments with honesty — not to stay wounded, but to finally understand the woman they shaped.

I spent a long time being last: the one who held everyone together, who gave more than she kept, who mistook being needed for being loved. Never First is where I finally set that story down.

Begin Where the Silence Breaks

I did not write this book to make life look perfect. I wrote it because there is freedom in telling the truth without dressing it up for anyone else’s comfort.

This is my story of growing up, losing myself, loving deeply, hurting quietly, becoming a mother, building a life, watching parts of it break, and slowly understanding that being last in your own life is not love. I am so grateful you are here to read it.

What I write about

The quiet things we carry.

Family and the love that comes with conditions. Mothers and daughters. The dreams we delay for everyone else. Faith, marriage, motherhood, and betrayal. And the slow, stubborn work of learning to choose yourself.
